Winter is here!

Brrrr.

Just the thought of it makes me cold.

But I’m dedicated to swimming, and the pursuit of pleasant water experiences. So here are three safe ways to enjoy the goodness that is a Lime Ricki suit, even in the depths of winter.

1. Go Somewhere Warm

Hawaii anybody? I have some friends going to school on the islands, and their open-ended invitation is taking me to the brink of an impulse buy to the tropical paradise. I can just picture it now, all the fresh, ripe fruits I could imagine, paired with days upon end in the ocean. As the temperature continues to drop, this getaway is becoming more and more of a realistic option.

2. Heated Pools

If you don’t have one, you’ve got to know somebody who has one. There’s nothing quite like a late night swim when it’s snowing. It makes you feel like you’re in a snow globe.

3. Hot Springs/Pots

hotsprings

or earth’s hot tubs. Do a quick google search for natural hot pots or hot springs in your area and see what comes up. There’s usually some pretty good info, or if you ask around people might have funny stories about their trip to the hot springs. Be prepared, though, for a hike at night and a wilderness setting. But this could be a fun winter adventure to have.

Let us know how you plan on wearing your swimsuit this winter in the comments below.
