We might be diehard summer-lovers around here, but that doesn’t stop us from loving fall, too! When Trader Joe’s rolls out all their fall goodies, every member of the Lime Ricki team heads over and stocks up. We’ve all found our favorites over the years, and a few new ones in 2018 that are worth a try!
1. Fall Harvest Salsa
This one has been a long standing favorite at our office, and many of us wait with bated breath for it to hit the shelves every year. Packed with butternut squash, apples, and pumpkin, it’s one you might want to stockpile for the rest of the year.
2. Pumpkin Tortilla Chips
These are essentially regular tortilla chips, except they’re made with pumpkin purée, pumpkin seeds, and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg in addition to corn. They’re the perfect chip to eat that fall harvest salsa with, we think.
3. Cornbread Crisps
Cornbread Crisps are kind of like cornbread, except they aren’t bread and are more like crackers that taste like cornbread, which makes them ideal for dipping into chili or soup. Another option is to snack on them whenever you feel like eating cornbread, but don’t want to take the time to bake some.
4. Ghosts & Bats Potato Chips
These are basically Pringles in the shape of ghosts and bats. They’re delicious, cute, and so addicting.
5. Carrot Cake Spread
We’re not really sure what exactly this is – possible a carrot cake jam? Whatever it is, it’s good and it’s new this year. We put it on the cornbread crisps and would definitely recommend it.
6. Pumpkin Kringle
TJ’s comes out with new kringles every season or so, and the pumpkin flavor is one of the best. If you’ve never had a Danish Kringle, it’s a butter-layered pastry, sometimes filled with nuts or iced with flavored frosting. The pumpkin one is iced, filled, and sprinkled with pecans.
7. Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Technically this isn’t a fall item, but if you’re in the market for a good vegan cookie, this is it.
8. Candy Corn Popcorn
Another new item in fall 2018, this popcorn is coated in a sweet flavoring meant to mimic candy corn. Even if you’re not a big candy corn fan, chances are you’ll like this little treat.
9. Vermont Ghosted Maple Syrup
This syrup is not here to mess around, seeing as it’s got actual ghost pepper extract mixed in – and it is hot. But, if you like things with a little spice, give this one a try and let us know what you think! We’re a little scared to try more than just a drop.
10. Apple Cider Jam
Apple Cider Jam is exactly what it sounds like! Made with Granny Smith and Roma apples, actual apple cider, and a bunch of warm spices, it’s perfect for a PB&J, toast, or even to use in a pork chop marinade. Yum.
11. Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
You caught us – another one that’s not exactly a fall item – but if you plan on making avocado toast this fall, sprinkle this on top and thank us later.
12. Pumpkin Spice Granola Bark
This is essentially a pumpkin spice granola bar covered in dark chocolate and pumpkin seeds. It’s not overly “pumpkin spice,” but it is addicting and would be a great hiking snack (or anytime snack).
