Spring is one of our favorite times of the year to enjoy a great book. Just imagine: the sun is shining, the weather is getting warmer, and you find yourself sitting outside more; you might as well enjoy a good story while you’re at it!  Here are 6 books to read this spring, recommended by the Lime Ricki team!

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick

Paperback The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper Book

Recommended by our Warehouse Manager Alacia:

“One of my favorite spring reads is The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper. It’s a cute story about an elderly man, and the adventures he goes on after his wife has passed away. Definitely not what I expected & definitely in my top 10 favorite books ever!”

My Friend Anna: the true story of a fake heiress by Rachel Deloache Williams

Recommended by our Social Media Manager, Lauren:

“This book tells the true story of Anna Delvey, a young con artist who scammed her friends, powerful business people, and the entire Manhattan socialite scene into thinking she was a wealthy German heiress. Trust me, this one is a wild ride with twists and turns at every corner. It’s a great read for anyone who loves true crime, mixed in with a little bit of Gossip Girl.”

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown

Recommended by Lime Ricki Owner, Jennifer:

“I love this book as it has taught me that I can let go of trying to be perfect and allow my imperfections to be seen – the more I open up to being vulnerable and sharing my imperfect self, the more real and happy I become. It is in the sharing, not the hiding, that I can embrace who I truly am.”

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Recommended by our Provo Store Manager, Beth:

“I love Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine because it shows the importance of connection through the life of a character that has essentially created a solitary life for herself. It is witty and light while still insightful to the lasting affects of trauma. The main Character Eleanor becomes someone that you care for right away and want to check in on when you aren’t reading.”

The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben

Recommended by Lime Ricki Owner, Colette:

“This one has been on my reading list for a couple of years, and thanks to our very own Bethany, I’m now reading it! It’s about all the things we never knew about trees—they feel, they communicate to each other, and they even help keep each other alive. They are so much more than shade or sources of wood and maple syrup. Learning about trees gives me a greater sense of the greater world around us and how we are interconnected with all living things.”

The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christie Lefteri

Recommended by Lime Ricki Owner, Nicole:

“I loved this novel about a man and his wife who have to leave their beautiful but simple life in Aleppo, Syria during the Syrian War. They leave behind their home, their bees, and a lifetime of memories. They encounter hardships and difficulties along the way, but ultimately are able to escape to restart and rebuild their life in a new country. It’s a heartbreaking look at the refugee’s journey but is also hopeful and compassionate and reminded me  of the power of human spirit.”
