The number one reason I love the world’s sensation with remixes is that it makes old music new again, and sometimes completely different. We’ve all had that experience with a good cover song, but the remix takes it to the next level.
It seems like everywhere you look there are remixes of the most popular songs today. If you’re a Katy Perry fan, which I certainly am, you can find countless remixes of all of her hits. But today, I wanted to share one of my favorite remixes with you.
Local Natives has had a big buzz building around them for the last two years, and if you’ve heard of them or seen them live, then you know why they’ve gotten such acclaim. My favorite song off of their last, and only, album was Who Knows Who Cares. It has this great build to it, and the melodies are awesome. When I first heard it, I dubbed it a great road trip song. Plus this video is just clips taken from El Dia De Los Muertos, in Mexico, which happens to be one of my favorite holidays that I learned about in High School Spanish class. I like good mood music, and this fits the bill. Enjoy the art of the remix!
