I guess should isn’t the right word here, so let’s say: Three Oscar Nominated Movies That Will Be Well Worth Your Time.
Oscar season is really quite an exciting time because there are so many good movies out. It’s winter, so there isn’t as much to do, and in all the theaters there are quality movies; ones that we’ve been teased by trailers all year long. So, without any further teasing, here are three movies that are worth your time this awards season:
1. Saving Mr. Banks (up for best original score — music)
We all want to go behind the curtain that is Disney, and what a better way to do it than with the lovable Tom Hanks. Who here still remembers You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle? Those movies were classic Hanks. Lovable, charming, witty. And now we get him as Walt Disney! It’s going to be 126 feel good minutes. In case you’re still not convinced? 2. Gravity (up for best picture, among other things)

3. Despicable Me 2 (up for best animated feature)
Because who can get enough of Gru? And because I’ll always remember the moment I saw it in theaters right after it came out, on a Saturday afternoon. The entire place erupted at the end when the minions do their song. I thought the chairs were going to break from rocking back and forth so hard, and the theater, full of kids, exploded with laughter. It’s one of my favorite movie moments ever.
and also, this song came from it:
